History of Slasher
Slasher films are considered to be especially favoured by the more recent and people who are new to the horror genre; people like the slasher movies as they themselves can relate to this movie, slashers actually exist in the world- making it more anticipating to watch.
Slasher films usually consist of a basic setup- the first and most important is the killer, the killer is usually made an iconic symbol by the way they are dressed and presented- their identities are stripped from them; the directors usually do these by using props such as a prop like a mask or they cleverly use the lighting to hide the killers identity. Killers are stereotypically men, this is because they are also stereotypically thought to be much stronger, quicker and superior to women.
